HORACE YOUNG JR. was born June 28, 1953 in Taylor, Texas to Horace and Alma Lee Young. Horace passed away after a brief illness on January 28, 2016.
Horace attended school in Austin at L.L. Campbell, John B. Winn, University Jr High, and was a 1971 graduate of John H. Reagan High School. He later attended Austin Community College, Concordia Lutheran College, Texas State University, and the University of Texas. Horace served 30 years with the State of Texas at HHS, Board of Pardons and Paroles, and the DPS.
Horace was predeceased by his mother Alma Lee, and brothers Michael, Vincent, and Christopher Young.
Horace is survived by his father Horace Young Sr., one brother Vonn Young, three sisters, Patricia Young-Sutton, and Alma Purcell (William Jr) all of Austin and Jennifer Smith (Reginald) of Dale; six nieces and nephews: Patrick, Pamela & Cory Sutton, William Purcell III, Olivia and Victoria Smith and one great niece Patrice and one great nephew Tristan. Horace is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
