Stephen Wells Rollins
June 9, 1953 - June 13, 2022
Stephen Wells Rollins left this earthly realm on June 13, 2022, just 4 days after his 69th birthday.
Steve was an "Air Force brat", moving all around the country with his family. He lived in places as varied as San Antonio, Texas , Colorado Springs, Colorado and Champagne, Illinois. He was a 1971 graduate of Reagan High.
Steve lived most of his adult life in Austin, and his last 16 years in Lampasas. He was an accomplished mechanic — he could rebuild truck engines and even table-top radios. Steve earned an Associate of Arts degree at McLennan County Community College, and worked many years at the SEARS Service Center in Austin, contributing quality work there up to his retirement. He was also a gifted artist — he created beautiful water colors usually with automotive subject matter. Later in life he developed an interest in computers. He was gifted in that area too, providing free support services to friends and church associates.
Steve was exceedingly kind. He loved his pets (dogs Speckles and Chloe currently), and animals in general. He was a devoted husband of 16 years to his wife, Janice, and was a devoted caregiver to his special needs step-son, Sean.
He is survived by his wife Janice, step-son Sean, father-in-law Perry Winn, brothers Bryan and Robert, as well as numerous cousins and aunts.
He was a beautiful soul, and he will be missed terribly. We love you so much Steve, and know that you’re now in God’s warm embrace.
A memorial service will be held for Steve on Thursday, June 23 at 4:00 PM at Sneed - Carneley Funeral Chapel and Cremations, 201 E 3rd St., Lampasas, TX 76550. 512-556-1183.
