Laurel Kagan Wiley
November 11, 1953 - November 6, 2005

Laurel KaganSouth Fork, Colo., resident Laurel Kagan Wiley, 52, died Monday, Nov. 6, at her home in South Fork under hospice care, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Charleston, W.Va., to Morris and Sylvia Settoon Kagan. She married Barry E. Wiley on Dec. 28, 1980, in Boerne, Texas.

Mrs. Wiley was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Wildlife Society. She enjoyed hunting, hiking and wildlife watching, as well as the time she spent in the out-of-doors.

She is survived by her husband Barry of South Fork; her father Morris Kagan of Austin, Texas; brothers Marc Kagan of Raton, N.M., Todd Kagan of Austin and Brad Kagan of Norman; sisters Karen Witter of Austin and Sherryll Porter of Norman; parents-in-law Bennie and Billie Wiley of Boerne; brothers and sisters-in-law Mick and Debbie Mize and Brent and Jenny Wiley, both of San Marcos, Texas; special friends Sonny and Bessie Smith of South Fork, Peggy Dean of Boerne, and Robert and Cynthia Ann Guyon of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sylvia and her brother Dan Kagan.

Cremation was performed at the Rogers Family Mortuary Crematory and a memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista, Colo.
